Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival

Cygnet Theatre, in collaboration with Playwrights Project, will present the third annual Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival, November 7-9, 2014. The festival introduces San Diego playgoers to new works by adult playwrights and also offers a series of workshops designed to introduce curious audiences to the art of playwriting.

Introducing Our New Board Members

Playwrights Project extends a warm welcome to our new board members! Please join us in welcoming aboard:

David A. Carr, past president and longtime board member, returns to the Playwrights Project board. Dave is the Chief Financial Officer at Garden Fresh Corp (Souplantation Restaurants) and was the Vice President of Finance at Petco, where he worked for 15 years.

Ann Hornby, MD, is the mother of one of our former winning playwrights, Katherine Quinn (The Aftermath of Cassidy Joan, 2007). Ann is an ophthalmologist in private practice who frequently volunteers her services in Mexico, Central and South America.

Kathy Krevat is also the mother of one of our former winning playwrights, Devyn Krevat (The Case of the Missing Pencil Tips, 2008 and Fairy Tale, 2014). Kathy is an author herself and recently published Death is Like a Box of Chocolates.

Holly Smith Jones recently retired as Executive Director of the Unemployment Services Trust. Besides joining the Playwrights Project Board of Directors, she also serves on the boards of The GOLD Diggers and Classics4Kids.
