Meet our new Development Manager, Linnea Searle!
Linnea Searle is thrilled to be joining Playwrights Project. She comes to us with a background in marketing, public relations and development, having served for several years as the Marketing and Development Manager of the Carlsbad Music Festival. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, she spent several years as a Marketing Manager at Nestle USA in Glendale and has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Linnea is excited to be using her experience and training to help build on all the wonderful contributions of her predecessor, Laurel Withers, who retired this Spring after dedicating 20+ years to Playwrights Project. We are overjoyed to welcome Linnea to the Playwrights Project family!

California Young Playwrights Contest 2016
| Previous California Young Playwrights Contest winners outside of The Old Globe's Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre |
Thank you to the California residents under the age of 19 who submitted scripts for the 2016 California Young Playwrights Contest. Our volunteer readers are working diligently to read and thoroughly review each script. Entrants have the option to receive detailed feedback on their submission, which we are in the process of carefully crafting. This year, we received 385 scripts from a total of 404 writers. Winners will work with a professional team to revise and enhance their writing, which will culminate in a professional production in The Old Globe's Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre in January 2017. Keep up the great work, young writers!
