Join us for readings of selected works by students and staff of the San Diego Community College District. Participating playwrights were mentored by professional dramaturgs and directors to develop, cast, and rehearse their pieces. An audience feedback session will follow each performance. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Workshop and performances made possible through the partnership of Mesa College, Playwrights Project and San Diego Playwrights.

Bring your journaling to life in this group workshop series for beginning
playwrights, ages 55 and up. Playwrights Project Founder Deborah Salzer
guides the process. Learn playwriting techniques, as you write short plays
depicting moments from your life.
Sessions involve six 90-minute
instructional sessions, and one 90-minute performance with professional
actors reading short scripts created in the sessions. Up to 12 participants.
No playwriting experience necessary. Cost: $180/person.

We are proud to announce that our application to the California Arts Council for the new JUMP StArts program was approved, helping us expand our playwriting residencies in juvenile hall and juvenile court schools. Our program is one of only seven awarded this grant, out of 32 applications.

When all the GiveBIG donations had been tallied, the amount donated during the 24 hour period was $921,782! Contributions to Playwrights Project totaled $4,255.
The San Diego Foundation and its generous sponsors provided a total of $200,000 in matching funds. Our percentage of these funds earned us $1,021. After credit card processing fees, we netted a total of approximately $5,020.
